Choose a face mask by format and time in your routine

A face mask is a format, not a single skin benefit. A sheet mask offers a short, contained step; a wash-off clay mask asks for rinsing; a sleeping mask stays on according to its label. Start with the experience you want and the time you have, then compare ingredients and instructions. A hydrating mask for an evening at home is a different choice from a clay formula used on oilier areas. Browse Korean face masks by format first so the products you compare actually answer the same need.

Sheet, wash-off, or overnight?

Sheet and hydrogel masks are pre-portioned and usually have a stated wear time. Check the package rather than leaving one on longer by default. Clay and other wash-off masks belong near cleansing and require a rinse; a sleeping mask is normally the last evening layer, subject to its own instructions. If your routine already includes strong exfoliants, be careful about adding a peeling or acid mask on the same night. The useful question is whether the format fits a repeatable routine, not how many masks you can combine.

Read past the front-label promise

The words hydrating, soothing, and pore care can describe very different formulas. Look at the ingredient list, recommended contact time, and whether the formula is fragranced or exfoliating. For a brief moisture-focused step, compare sheet and gel masks; for a rinse-off step on oilier areas, compare suitable clay formats. Product availability and exact claims belong to the individual product listing. Stop using a mask that causes discomfort, and do not interpret a temporary refreshed look as a lasting change in skin structure.

Frequently asked questions

Are sheet masks and sleeping masks interchangeable?

No. They have different wear instructions. Use the stated contact time for a sheet mask and follow the sleeping mask's overnight directions.

Do I rinse off a clay mask?

Yes, when the specific clay product is labeled as a wash-off mask. Check the package for timing and removal instructions.

How often should I use a face mask?

Follow the individual product instructions and consider the rest of your routine. Exfoliating masks generally need more caution than a simple moisture-focused format.

Should a mask feel tight or sting?

Discomfort is not proof it is working. Remove the mask as directed and discontinue use if irritation develops.
